Revision - key terms
Conglomerate - a large company that owns subsidiaries (Disney).
Distribution - where the company puts their products (Disney distributes Marvel onto Disney+)
Synergy - choosing the most affective method of marketing using your synergies to maximize your success for brand. Releasing more products/companies to maximise the promotion of the brand to make more money. Cross promotion, cross branding, maximises advertising for most profit (Black Widow movie, Merchandise, website marketing, advertising on Disney+. Channel 4 and Hat Trick productions work together to produce Derygirls
Horizontal integration -when a company can promote across different media subsidiaries.
Mise-en-scene - French terms for everything in the frame, the elements of filming being lighting, costume, props, blocking, setting, make up, iconography, acting gesture. (theories, mainly binary opposition)
Continuity editing - editing that is meant to look as if it was filmed at once and there is no editing noticed. Do not notice the cuts.
Non-continuity editing - can notice the editing, its meant to be seen.
Panning - shot type, camera moves left to right or right to left, sets the scene, place and establishes where and when the scene is, shows the mise-en-scene.
Composition - part of camera work and framing, how we film something.
Blocking - placements of props, people, lighting etc.
Joint venture - a joint venture is a business entity created by two or more parties, generally characterised by shared ownership, shared returns and risks, and shared governance.
