Starter Tuesday 2nd February- LO4 and LO5 recap - RAJAR
Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 - that means that the first quarter of the year - data analysis by companies/research organisation.
Identify three trends in how audiences listen to live radio from 2011-2020.
1) From 2011 to 2020 there is an increase in all ages using smartphones, tablets per month.
2) Ages of 15-24s has increased then decreased throughout the years to then become near levelled out with the other ages of smartphones and tablets being used to access the live radio.
3) From 2011 to 2020 to pattern of data has stayed the same, showing that over the 9 years 15-24s have always been the most frequent listeners on smartphones and tablets then all adults and 25+.
Explain two reasons why you think any of those trends have occurred.
1) I think that the reason why the number of people listening to live radio between the ages of 15-24 increased and then decreased was because they had more access to the internet in the years between 2011 and 2020. This then means that they would listen to music more often that was broadcasted onto the radio, however it has then slowly decreased for there is more methods of listening to music and previous broadcasted radio shows.
2) I believe a reason for there being an increase in all ages using smartphones and tablets to listen to live radio is because there is more available technology and it is more affordable and regular for someone to have. Technology has been more normalised to use meaning people know how to use it more and are more familiar with it, this is also because of the different apps, websites etc. This is shown from the increase of the all adults percentage to 19% throughout the years.
